His Fight
Became Our Mission
In 2019, our founder Bryan Angelo lost his father John to an aggressive blood cancer called Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. John was an avid golfer. The course was where he found his peace, connected with friends and family, and let the world slow down. His resilience during treatment, his refusal to stop fighting, and the joy he carried onto every fairway became the foundation for this event.
The Resilient Open began in 2025 as part of Bryan's Visionaries of the Year campaign with Blood Cancer United. What started as one son's tribute has grown into something bigger: a community-driven event under the JRA Foundation that provides direct support to families navigating blood cancer treatment — and channels additional funding to Blood Cancer United to advance the research that will end this disease.
This tournament isn't just about remembering John. It's about making sure his fight leads somewhere. Every swing, every sponsor, every dollar moves us closer to a future where fewer families hear the words that changed ours.
His resilience became our mission. His peace became our purpose.
